Belva Yvonne Carey, age 79, entered Heaven’s gates on Wednesday, February 27th, 2019. Belva was born on August 11th, 1939 in Shawnee, Oklahoma, to Claude Weathers and Faye Evelyn Smith (Kinsel). Belva retired from the Yukon Public School system in 1999. In 2000, she and her beloved husband Roger opened a daycare where she worked as a childcare provider. Belva enjoyed sewing, cooking, caring for the daycare children and her loved ones, participating in church activities at the First Pentecostal Church, and spending time with her husband and four children. She also enjoyed sitting and telling old stories about her family and her many life experiences. She taught many how to cook over the phone, as well as hands-on in the kitchen – if you couldn’t remember something from the old family recipes, just call her on the phone! She did many great things in this life and would give unselfishly to anyone in need, even if she didn’t have it herself. Belva, along with her husband, opened their home for many years to any of her children or grandchildren in need, and would always feed you with whatever she had to offer. Never wanting to see a child do without, she made sure school supplies were bought along with coats and anything else she thought they may need.
