Obituary

Elinor “Ann” McKee passed away on January 4, 2019 at the age of 80 after a lengthy illness. She was born on February 23, 1938 in Vincennes, Indiana to the late Frank Eby and Florence King Eby. In 1960, she married the love of her life, Mike McKee. After living in Ardmore, Sallisaw and Oklahoma City, they would evidentially move to Yukon where they would start one of many businesses. Ann attended OSU and Central State University where she graduated with a Bachelors degree in Education.

Ann taught kindergarten and first grade at Central Elementary in Yukon. She loved the children and could be seen many times during recess sitting on top of the monkey bars. After teaching, she helped her husband run their oilfield business. Ann was the backbone and driving force behind all the businesses in which she and Mike were involved.

After retiring at an early age, Ann enjoyed spending the winter months in Tucson Arizona. She enjoyed golfing, crafting, swimming and simply “piddling” at their winter home. She was always ready to come home after their 4 months in Arizona and see her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed life with family and friends.

Her hobbies included traveling, spending time at the lake, golfing, playing bridge with the same ladies for over 45 years, and reading. She was active in Alpha Delta Kappa, Art League, served as Cub Scout Leader and spent many years as a Sunday School teacher.

Ann is survived by her husband of 58 years Mike McKee; her son Mike McKee Jr and wife Tammy, daughter Misha Yancey and husband Alan; four grandchildren, Mike McKee III, Kiley Mixon and husband Jeremy, Caitlin Villalobos and husband Matthew, and Allyson Yancey; three great grandchildren, Cohen, Adalynn and Gavin Mixon; sister-in-law Beth Eby; niece Nicole and her son Thomas Eby. She was preceded in death by her father, mother, and brother Charles Harry Eby.

The celebration of Ann’s life will be held Tuesday, January 8, 2019, at 2:30 PM. Services will be held at the United Methodist Church of the Good Shepherd. Viewing will be held Monday, January 7, 2019 from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM at Smith and Turner Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Yukon Public Schools Foundation for Excellence.

We understand Anns interest in spending the winter in AZ. She certainly was an inspiration to all and we feel fortunate to call her a friend. Our son Scott knew her through the sharing of teachers when he was in kindergarten. His comment was "She was always soooo nice." Please accept our prayers for peace and comfort at this time.
