Obituary

La Juana Rhea (Ballard) Stipe went to heaven on Wednesday, February 13, 2019, to be with her Savior, Jesus and her sweetheart, just in time for Valentine’s Day. Born in Amarillo, TX on June 6, 1935, her parents were Cora Mae Evelyn Ballard and James Ballard. She graduated Salutatorian from Canadian High School, Canadian, TX. While attending Midwest Christian College, Oklahoma City, she met and married Eugene Stipe on July 29, 1954. Eugene and La Juana lived in Yukon since 1999. She retired from TG&Y. as a bookkeeper.

Classically trained in both piano and organ, La Juana enjoyed sharing her gift by teaching and also accompanying choirs, her husband and daughters. She challenged her family and friends with games; enjoyed singing harmony, sewing, ceramics, many crafts and was an avid reader of Christian books.

La Juana made two special trips in her lifetime, one to Jerusalem, where she participated in a study of the Geographical and Historical Setting of the Bible and one to Ecuador to visit Bill & Karleen Crandall, Message of Life Ministries’ missionaries and friends in Guayaquil.

As an active member of Town and Country Christian Church in Yukon, La Juana participated in a ministry of encouragement by giving cards to members on special occasions. She enjoyed her daily Bible reading and looked forward to studies with family and friends, mentoring many in their daily walk with Jesus. She prayed with and for so many people through the years, including those who cared for her most recently during her hospital stays.

She is survived by her three daughters and husbands, Gayle Green (Terry) of Yukon, OK, Jane Spears (Don) of The Colony, TX, Twila Bierman (Brian) of Birmingham, AL. She is also survived by brothers, Ben (Jane) Ballard, of CA, Danny Ballard of Borger, TX, Lela Kathleen (Jerry) Harris of Pampa, TX, sister-in-law, Aliene Ballard of Lipscomb, TX.

Grandchildren: Myndee (Josh) Miller; Jeremy (Heather) Green; Lindsay (Isaac) Newman; Bradley Green & friend, Emma Holley; Holly (Adam) Reid; Haley Spears; Jacob (Tiffany) Bierman; Joshua (Paige) Bierman.
Great Grandchildren: Jaya Miller, Jerynn Miller, Hannah Green, Silas Newman; Joshua Green; Caysten Reid; Lilliana Reid (baby boy Reid); John Bierman; (baby girl Bierman)

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eugene; siblings, Kenneth Ballard and Shirley Haines; great grandchildren, Lanae Joy Newman, Asher Michael Reid and Gideon Michael James Green.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to Message of Life Ministries. http://www.bcrandall.org/Donate/donate.html
