Richard Lee Myers passed away on August 22, 2019 at the age of 76. Richard was born to Walter and Wanda Myers (Johnson) on September 15, 1942 in El Reno, Oklahoma where he remained a lifelong resident. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, and sister Nyna Fae Hubbard.
Richard graduated from El Reno High School in 1960 and continued his education at El Reno Junior College where he earned an associate degree. In 1971, while attending a social gathering, Richard met Maxine Barnes, and on March 26th of that same year, Richard and Maxine were married.

Richard was both caring and loving. He was a wonderful man with a kind heart. He was devoted to Maxine and his family, and taught them that above all else, the importance of having family. Richard was very witty and was known for always having the perfect comeback or witty phrase after a joke and enjoyed making people laugh.

Richard enjoyed watching old westerns, working in the yard, tinkering and golfing. He knew a little about everything and was always available to offer advice or to lend a helping hand. He also loved fishing and spending a day on the lake pulling all the kids around behind his boat.

Richard had a true passion for golfing “everyday”, he enjoyed watching the OU Sooners, he enjoyed a scotch and water, and had an appreciation for a good cigar.

Richards legacy will forever shine through three generations of kids that have come through his door, many of whom he has helped raise and guide into adulthood. Richard will be remembered for the impact he has made in many lives of all ages, and his spirit teachings will be carried on for years to come.

Richard is preceded in death by his father and mother and sister Nyna Fae Hubbard

Richard is survived by his loving wife Maxine, brother William Myers and wife Guity, and sister Helen Smithwick. He is also survived by fifteen nieces and nephews, twelve great nieces and nephews, and four great great nieces and nephews who absolutely adored him.
